Design Hotels x London Sessions
The brief :
Edible Installation for Design Hotels London Sessions at Cromwell Place.
Concept :
Exploring the concept of bricks and mortar, we wanted to consider the importance of having a physical space in the digital age and the experiential potential these spaces can offer. Inspired by the transformative power that travels can have, we invited guests to digitally disconnect, escape daily distractions, and immerse themselves in creative thought.
Considering the theme of bricks and mortar, and working alongside London-based chef Posie Hall, we encouraged guests to re-engage with their playful side and create their own building blocks - cutting themselves a personal miniature trowel from the installation’s display to personalise their own layers of textures and flavours, using the different bricks and mortars created by Posie Hall.
The contrasting foundational materials of concrete, stone and recycled glass were used to draw guests in with their tactile, sensorial properties, allowing them to be immersed in their surroundings and ultimately connect with themselves.
